Malpensa Airport Transfers & Taxis

Taxis can be found just outside of terminal 1 and terminal 2. At terminal 1 they are located on level 0, the arrivals floor, outside of exit 6 and at terminal 2 outside from exit 4.

Taxis in Milan are white and they all have to be metered by law. The meter charges vary depending on the time of day you travel. There is a fixed charge plus a price per kilometre and there are also charges for waiting in traffic and handling luggage.

Prices in the day time, from 06:00 and 21:00, have a fixed fare of €3.30 and then cost €1.09 for every kilometre travelled plus if you stop in traffic the fee is €28.32 per hour. Outside of these times a night rate is charged and the only difference is the fixed fee which is €6.50. Toll charges are also the responsibility of the passenger.

Taxis from Malpensa airport are slightly different though. Taxis still have to switch on their meters but the price displayed on the meter is irrelevant as the prices are fixed, so there is no need to worry about how much it will cost you. The fees are the same day and night, and no additional surcharges can be added, even if you travel on a toll road. The fixed prices are as follows:

  • To Milan - €90.00 to any address in the city area.
  • To Fiera Milano Trade Fair (Exhibition Centre) - €65.00.
  • To Linate Airport - €100.00.
  • To Varese - €65.00 to any address in this city.

There is no need to book a taxi, but if you prefer to, the taxi operators are as follows:

  • Radiotaxi 6969 - Telephone: +39 02 6969.
  • Radio Taxi Freccia - Telephone: +39 02 4000.

  • Taxi 8585 Autoradiotassi - Telephone: +39 02 8585.
  • ICTM Consorzio Taxi Malpensa - Telephone: +39 0331 231312.

Please note that taxis in Milan can only carry 4 passengers, so if you are in a group of 5, you will have to take 2 taxis.

Before you decide on a taxi, it may be worth considering a private transfer or sharing a shuttle bus, especially if you are travelling with children or in a group of 5 or more people.

Private Transfers

There are several companies who offer private transfers to and from Malpensa airport. One that is highly recommended is Shuttle Direct. Shuttle Direct offer a premium customer service. They will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall, holding up your name on a board, and assist you with your luggage to a private vehicle, thus avoiding all the queueing that is associated with other public transport.

All transfers can be booked in advance and you will have a choice of vehicle to choose from.
