Malpensa Airport Trains

Malpensa airport has two train lines that run to and from both airport terminals and central Milan. One line takes you to and from Milan Cadorna Station, and the other to Milano Centrale Station via Porta Garibaldi Station. Both of these lines are the Malpensa Express trains (www.malpensaexpress.it/en/) that are operated by Trenord.

Should I go to Milan Cadorna or Milan Centrale Station?

Cadorna station is located about 1.3 kilometers from the center of Milan, on the west, and it is the closest you can get to the center by train. The Centrale station is located north east, about 3 kilometers from the center. If you take the line to Centrale station, you can also stop at Porta Garibaldi Station which is to the north, around 2.4 kilometres from the centre.

If you are staying in central Milan, then taking the line to the Cadorna station is the best option, but if you are going to continue your journey then the Centrale station is better to connect to another city, or Porta Garibaldi Station (on the Centrale line) if you want to connect to another station within the Milan metropolitan area.

Milan Centrale is the main railway station in Milan and one of the main stations in Europe, so it has high speed connections to cities such as Bologna, Rome, Naples, Salerno Turin, Venice and Verona.
